I have to come to the place where I am listening to Him so intently that the rest of the voices are drowned out, and His is the voice that directs each and every one of my steps.I Live in an Antbedhttp://www.iliveinanantbed.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2330757098221229362.post-7637579992036722142011-02-15T09:16:47.018-05:002011-02-15T09:16:47.018-05:00This is a good post. She was born, lived, and died in the same town. She was always generous, kind, giving, helpful - a picture of God for everyone - even those who mistreated her. She stuck it out with an unsaved but good man (my grandfather) until her prayers were answered and he yielded to the Lord. When she died her funeral was in a church that seated about 200-300 people. It was packed. Over the years her radiating the goodness of God spilled over to so many. I am one who received such goodness from her. She left a legacy of love, I try to follow her example - even as she followed Christ's. In our smallness, He makes us great, just where He plants us.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12397758479550101279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2330757098221229362.post-14767532642347069312011-02-14T23:06:06.393-05:002011-02-14T23:06:06.393-05:00I think the whole "it's not about you&quo...I think the whole "it's not about you" thing is a direct reflection of the gospel - it is and it isn't (about you). I think you've nailed it here. I know, of course, where you heard that, and I have heard exactly what you've said here: in one sense, it is - and in another, it is not. From that same speaker. That it is, and it isn't.

Seems like it's a direct correlation with the the greatest commandment - love God, love others. Both are about you...and not...

I love the paradox of the Christian faith. It's a lot of both/ands. And the wrestling can be excruciating, painful, confusing - and glorious. Learning to live in the tension of both / and has been something I've gotten strangely used to.

Thanks for sharing your journey. It's what encourages me (and others)...Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03119943581970095780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2330757098221229362.post-8591273450002934262011-02-14T19:57:35.520-05:002011-02-14T19:57:35.520-05:00I keep thinking of a line from an old hymn--"...I keep thinking of a line from an old hymn--"My name is written on His hands."
